Fusible interfacing is a soft stabilizing material used on the back of leather and fabric to provide additional strength and structure. The reverse side is coated with a thin layer of adhesive that is activated by heat from an iron.

The material is well suited for projects where extra support is needed without making the material too stiff. Fusible interfacing is often used in bags, wallets, and other sewing projects, but it can also be used as a lining when a light and stable inner layer is desired – even without ironing it onto the material.

For fusing, a temperature of 100–110 °C (210–230 °F) is recommended. Place a piece of cotton fabric or pattern paper on top of the material during ironing to protect both the iron and the material. Then press evenly over the interfacing until the adhesive activates and bonds to the material.

When ordering multiple meters, the interfacing will be supplied in one continuous length
