Snap locks are simple and practical locking mechanisms that provide a secure and easy closure for your projects. They are often used for bags, purses, belts and other leatherwork where quick and easy opening and closing is required. With their durable design and ease of use, snap locks are ideal for both everyday use and special projects.

•    See the dimensions of all three sizes of snap locks under the images
•    Available in three different sizes and colors - choose under variants
•    Material: The snap locks are made of a thin iron plate, which is shaped and then coated with a surface finish

Advantages
•    Easily opened and closed by clicking the lock in and out of position

Application
Snap locks are versatile and are perfect for bags, belts, backpacks and purses. They can also be used for other hobby projects and DIY work where a reliable closure is desired.

Assembly instructions
How to insert the bottom part of the snap lock
1.    Before cutting the leather, make sure that the position of the lock is correct.
2.    Cut two or four small slits in the leather that match the “legs” on the back of the bottom part of the snap lock (the small and medium snap lock has two “legs” on the back, while the large one has four).
3.    Push the “legs” of the lock through the slits from the front of the leather, place the included metal plate on the back, and press the legs together on top of the metal plate (see picture). If necessary, press with the end of a metal ruler.

How to insert the top part of the snap lock
The top part of the snap lock should only be installed when your project is completely finished.
1.    Snap the top part of the lock into the bottom part, then place the leather in the top part of the lock. Check that the lock is straight on your project, and mark on the leather through the two small holes on the top of the lock.

Important: Do not push the leather all the way into the lock, as this will prevent the lock from closing properly.

2.    Make holes in the two marks with either an awl or a small hole punch. Place the lock back on the project and press the tab (the other part of the top) from the front through the holes.
3.    Bend the ends of the tab towards each other on the back (see picture). If necessary, press with the end of a metal ruler.

TIP: To make it easier to open and close the snap lock, you can attach a small “flap” to the top of the lock. The flap should be the same width as the lock where it meets the lock.
