“Crazy horse” leather is made from cowhide that has been waxed or oiled to create the characteristic patina and texture. The treatment gives the leather a pull up effect, which means that the leather becomes lighter where it is folded or bent. 
The special treatment that “Crazy horse” leather becomes gives it a worn and patinated look, reminiscent of what occurs naturally over time when the leather ages. “Crazy horse” leather can have darker tones, stains, scratches and other natural characteristics that help give it its unique look.
