These chisels are wide and are used primarily for making lacing holes in leather. The chisels are driven through the leather by using a rawhide maul, as it protects the metal of the chisel, while also providing a shock-absorbing effect. The are available with different numbers of prongs and are all in the size 3 mm. The chisels also have rough metal on the handle, which makes them easier to hold, when they are hammered through the leather.
