This round awl can be used for making stitching holes in leather and is particularly suitable for when sewing with x-stitches. The awl is very pointy, and it can easily pierce through leather with most thicknesses. When marking stitching holes, a creaser or a wing divider must first be used to create a crease along the edge of the leather, after which the crease must be rolled with a space marker to indicate the distance at which the holes are to be sewn. Be sure to buy an awl handle that is suited for round awls.
