This curved awl is mostly used for buck stitching, when e.g., sewing corners together at a perpendicular angle or when sewing two adjoining pieces of leather together. The curved awl must be attached to a fitting awl handle, after which it is driven through the leather to create holes for sewing. Be sure to use an awl handle that fits curved awls.
