Waterstain is recommended for dyeing natural colored aniline leather and for dyeing aniline dyed products, such as furniture, belts, bags, purses, but only to a darker tone.

 

Facts

• Water-based.

• The stain can be used on aniline or semi-aniline leather.

• Can be diluted with water. The colour does not become lighter, but less opaque.

• Remember to cover hands, floors, etc., as Waterstain can be difficult to remove.

 

Application

• To achieve the best result, you must ensure that the leather goods are degreased and cleaned before dyeing them. Use alcohol or strong cleaner depending on how dirty the leather is.

• Apply the Waterstain with the sponge specially made for staining, a microfiber cloth, or a cotton cloth.

• It is important to buff the stain with a soft cloth when it is dry.

 

Advantage

• There is no smudging nor rub-off of dye if the steps above are followed.

• Good coverage

• Can be applied in several coats to produce a deeper and more intense colour.

• The colours can be mixed.

 

Always do a test in a non-visible place before you start.

 

Leather grease after dyeing:

The stained product must dry approx. a day before it is subsequently treated with leather grease. It is very important that the stain is completely dry. Using leather grease after dyeing will help maintain the flexibility of the surface.

 

Strong cleaners and thinners cannot be used as cleaning alone. Leather goods must subsequently either be dyed or treated with a care product, as both strong cleaners and thinners dry out the leather.
