The hides feature the characteristic feather follicles that give ostrich leather its exclusive and recognisable look. Please note that the follicles are not evenly distributed across the entire hide – they are most prominent along the spine.

The thickness varies depending on where on the hide it is measured – it is thicker around the follicles and thinner under the belly.

South Africa
The hides come from farmed ostriches where the meat is used for food – making the hide a sustainable by-product.


Uses
Ideal for bags, furniture upholstery, and other leather goods where a striking and luxurious material is desired.


Certifications
These hides are classified as Non-CITES, meaning they originate from species not listed under the CITES convention.
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) is an international agreement that regulates trade in endangered species of wild animals and plants.
For Non-CITES hides, no special documentation or permits are required for import or trade.
