Pressed shoulders means that the shoulders are pressed together extra during the tanning process, which makes the leather more compact and firmer. The treatment produces a strong and dimensionally stable piece of leather that is particularly suitable for projects where extra firmness is needed.
The leather's dense structure makes it ideal for knife sheaths and wet shaping, among other things. Pressed shoulders dry harder than regular shoulders.
