Jeweler's rouge is available in 3 different varieties, suitable for different purposes. 

 

White:

- #800 grit for light polishing.

- Used primarily for the final finish of steel, stainless steel and zinc.

 

Red:

- #1000 grit for regular cleaning of metals.

- Most commonly used on steel blades and precious metals such as jewelry.

 

Green:

- #1200 grit for high-gloss polishing.

- Used primarily in the final polishing phase of stainless steel, brass, aluminum, nickel and chrome.

- The best all-round gloss polish for most metals.
